Eligibility – you are eligible if you are an assistant trainer, foreman/woman, pony boy/girl, exercise rider, hot walker, groom or watchman working for a horse trainer or owner assigned stable space at Aqueduct, Belmont or Saratoga.
Pension Amount – your pension is based on the length of your service after you have completed certain minimum service requirements.
Vesting – your pension becomes “vested” (yours) after five years of service (10 years if you last worked before 1989).
When the Pension is Payable – your pension normally becomes payable upon retirement at normal retirement age (65) or earlier under certain circumstances.
